Michael L. Slack
Short Biography: Michael L. Slack was born in Refugio, Texas in 1951. He was admitted to the Texas State Bar in1983 and is admitted to practice before the U. S. Court of Appeals, Fifth and Ninth Circuits, the U. S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas.
He received degrees from Texas A (B.S., with honors, aerospace engineering, 1973; M.S., aerospace engineering, 1974), and the University of Texas (J.D., 1983). He served as an aerospace engineer in the Structures and Mechanics Division, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas, 1974–80.
He is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (past president and director, executive committee), the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (past chair, aviation section), the Lawyer-Pilot’s Bar Association. He is also a senior member of the American Astronautical Society, a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and a member of the National Technical Committee, Legal Aspects of Aeronautics and Astronautics, A.I.A.A., 1985–present.
