Raymond M. Pierce
Short Biography: Raymond M. Pierce retired as a Detective First Grade from the New York City Police Department in 1998. A longtime member of the NYPD, he had received an FBI fellowship in psychological profiling with the Behavioral Science Unit at the FBI National Academy. He then established the Criminal Assessment and Profiling Unit, and the Detective Bureau’s Training Unit responsible for the yearly in-service training of NYC’s three thousand detectives. He also was the primary lecturer and coordinator of the NYPD’s Homicide Investigator’s Course from 1986 to 1998. Mr. Pierce holds a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science and a master’s degree in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He is a contributing author to the Criminal and Civil Investigation Handbook, second edition, and has been the subject of two books and numerous media interviews. Among the specialties of his firm, RMP International, are psychological profiling, equivocal and wrongful death evaluation, statement and document analysis, expert testimony, and corporate fraud.
