Jeffery Richardson, Sr. attended Michigan State University from 1963 to 1967 and then had a brief career in professional football with the world champion New York Jets, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Miami Dolphins. In 1970, Mr. Richardson started working in the loss prevention field as an investigator in distribution security for Pathmark Stores, Inc. After mastering distribution and transportation security, he entered the retail arena in Brooklyn, the Bronx and Manhattan, where he helped to develop Pathmark’s in-house plainclothes security staff, which has grown from a staff of four to a present store detective staff of over 245. As the vice-president of loss prevention for Pathmark Stores, Inc., one of Jeff’s duties is to keep Pathmark’s Loss Prevention Department up-to-date with the most modern techniques and equipment available. Mr. Richardson was the treasurer of the Northern New Jersey Chapter of ASIS from 1995 to 2000, has served on FMI’s Loss Prevention Committee, and was the chairman of the New Jersey Food Council’s Loss Prevention Committee for four years. Currently, he is serving on the Certified Forensic Interviewer advisory committee for the Center for Interviewer Standards and Assessment, Ltd. (CISA).
