Quickly determine the speed and stopping distance of automobile, or small or large trucks.
You will use this essential calculator during interviews, investigations, depositions, and trials in determining the speed and stopping distance of automobiles or small or large trucks. One side gives you the stopping distance of cars, and two truck types; the back side shows the stopping distance for three truck tractors and semitrailers.
Example: Assume a standard ....

This device is a table of numbers printed on a card that slides inside a sleeve with windows cut into it, and when you line up your speed on the card in one window on the sleeve, other windows in the sleeve will display your reaction time (and how far you travel during that time), as well as how many feet you travel during braking for average brakes and better brakes. The unit is calibrated for a standard sized passenger car, a 2-axle single unit truck of less than 10,000 lbs, a 2-axle single unit truck more than 10,000 lbs, a 2-axle truck-trailer with a one or two axle semi, a 3-axle single unit truck, or a 3-axle truck-trailer with a two-axle semitrailer. If you hate formulas and math this device is a real blessing to anyone analyzing the kinetics of a vehicle on the road. It eliminates complex formulas and provides numbers faster than you could punch them into an electronic calculator.

This product is a table of numbers printed on a card that slides inside another card with windows cut into the outer so you can read the numbers on the inner as you move it. Graduations are marked on the outer card so you can quickly compute stopping distance for average and good brakes, and how far you travel while applying those brakes. It even takes human reaction time into account, displaying how far you travel per second at your current speed. Further, it will give results for a standard sized passenger car, a 2-axle single unit truck of less than 10,000 lbs, a 2-axle single unit truck more than
10,000 lbs, a 2-axle truck-trailer with,a one or two axle semi, a 3-axle single unit truck, or a 3-axle truck-trailer with a two-axle semitrailer.
Anyone who hates math and wants to quickly examine braking distance will love this product. Teachers of forensics can stage vehicular scenes by feeding students the numbers on the cards and having them use traditional, formulas (available from physics class or local police, departments) to work backwards. Conversely, they can allow students to solve the same mysteries via the use of the cards. Given the frequent discrepancy between driver estimates and true, pre-accident speed this card makes computations much easier.
