Vehicle skidmarks are more valuable in reconstructing accidents than eye witnesses. With this handy calculator, you can make use of this evidence to the utmost. Simple and easy to use, this two-sided calculator will save you valuable time in determining the accident speed of an automobile, and you will not need any special training in accident reconstruction, math, or science. One side of the calculator allows you to determine the original speed of a skidding ....
vehicle which has stopped or collided with another vehicle or object. The opposite side of the calculator includes a Friction of Coefficient Table for different types of roadway surfaces and conditions to be used in the calculation. An ideal product to be used during interviews, investigations, depositions, and trials.
Example Suppose a car travelling at highway speed on a dry, new cement roadway, leaves a skidmark of 250 feet before coming to a stop. To find the initial braking speed, set the arrow under Friction Coefficient Value to 0.80, and read Speed under the Length of Skidmark at 250 feet. The initial braking speed is 77.4 mph.
